Speaking of eating pie tonight
I just got back from the store after returning the Rug Doctor (steamin' mad at dirt) and looked around for a pie snack to eat to celebrate Obama's victory tonight. I'm a single guy so I didn't want to get a whole one, and the snack sized ones I found reminded me we have in Tulsa a pie making company called Bama. Since pies are O shaped, they're essentially OBama pies.

Unfortunately, they didn't have any flavors I liked so I got Milanos instead. :)

1. Can you explain the 'pie' thing to me?
I don't get it. Is it something Barack said in a speech?

Thanks.

7. It is a dish, often dessert, made with fruit, and the like.
A "pie" can also be made with meat and or potatoes.(a staple in the UK) Be creative fill the "crust" with any thing you may like. I like "Pie"

20. The pie story
Obama worked the pie story into his stump speech for a while.

I was in this small town in Ohio, Georgetown, Ohio. We went to a diner because I decided I wanted some pie.

"You going to make me some pie? What kind of pie do you make? Sweet potato pie?" ...But they did not have sweet potato pie at this particular establishment. So, instead, I got coconut cream pie. I'll take a cream pie, I don't mind. I like all kinds of pie. But the governor of Ohio, he had lemon meringue pie.

So we had ordered our pie and the employees there decided they wanted to take a picture with me because they said "Our boss, the owner of this diner, he's a die hard Republican. So we just want to kind of tweak him a little bit. We want to take a picture with you and we'll show him the picture."

Well, who should walk out with Obama's coconut cream pie and Strickland's lemon meringue pie, but the Republican owner of the diner.

I said, "How do you do sir? I hear you are a die hard Republican." He said, "That's right." I said, "How's business?"...

Of course, there's always pie narrative as in "we want a bigger piece of it" and "it's shrinking," and my personal favorite, "growing the pie higher."

Over at Daily Kos, there's been a long-running pie fetish that pre-dates the campaign. Pie is a treat. Everybody loves pie. Will there be pie? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473308">The waitress says "yes."

Pie -- well, it's just so darned all-American, ain't it!

3. I forgot pie
Instead, I got a huge bag of burgers and Big Macs at McDonald's, and will nuke and inhale as need be. Time off to cook anything is beyond me.

Let them eat pie....................

12. Key lime pie is AWESOME!!!!
By FAR it's my favorite kind of pie. A good key lime pie will send chills down my spine like nothing else. It's almost sexual.

15. Got a nice fresh sweet potato pie sitting on my kitchen counter
(where I HOPE the cats won't get curious about it) waiting for me to make whipped cream and pick up some pecans to sprinkle over the tip, and head out with champagne to Pam and Joe's for some food and celebration.

I have another crust in the freezer and might just make something offbeat like buttermilk pie or vinegar pie this weekend. Just because I LIKE PIE!!!!

16. Since I am partying alone tonight
I bought myself a frozen pizza "pie" and a slice of sweet potato pie for dessert.

They hardly ever have individual sweet potato pie in my grocery store, so I took it as an omen. Since that was the kind of pie that Obama was looking for that day in the cafe.

I love sweet potato pie.
