Can We Put Mormonism On the Ballot in 2010? |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-04-08 05:11 PM by last1standing
Think about it.
The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints spent $18 million to put homosexuality on the ballot this year in California so that everyone in the state could decide how other people live their own lives. That's a lot of cash spent to attack people who weren't hurting anyone else.
But when the No on 8 campaign put out an ad calling them on it, the LDS went insane calling for them to stop attacking religion. Ironic, no?
So I propose we work to ensure that every state in the union has a ballot measure in 2010 asking a simple question.
Should The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints be Allowed to Function in the State of _________ ?
Since these people feel so strongly that the majority should decide how other people are allowed to live their private lives, I suggest we allow them to be an example of the Will of the People.
Of course this is sarcasm, for those who think I was serious, but I think it makes a point.

2. Southern Baptists aren't an easily exploitable demographic. |
|
Part of my point is that if it were possible to put that measure on the ballot (it's not), there would be a very good chance of it passing because of groups like the Southern Baptists.
It's a thing about being careful what you wish for. :)

interesting (not in a good way) religion, just a hodge podge of treasure hunting, freemasonry, lodges, and lots of other failed religions from the Great Awakening.

How many hungry people could that have fed. Maybe these people should follow their precious Bible more, I'm pretty sure it says many things about feeding the hungry and sick and nothing about voting to ban gay marriage.

As long as religious issues are political fair game, why not let them experience how it feels to be attacked?

14. Why Sarcasm? Its a good idea... |

And yes, itll be ruled unconstitutional, but let the court sort it out. Sometimes you got to make a point, and make them waste their money defending it.
