Until The Rain Comes
I just wanted to post the lyrics to the tune I'm listening to -- one of my favorites. If you haven't heard Multikulti by the late great jazz trumpet icon Don Cherry, check it out. This song is especially affirming and energizing.
Until The Rain Comes
by Don Cherry + Peter Apfelbaum & The Hieroglyphics Ensemble w/Ingrid Sertso (vocal)
from Multikulti by Don Cherry, 1990

Plants grow through cracks in the concrete
And a flower blooms in the desert
There is a light
In the darkness
But the land is dry
Until the rain comes
Until the rain comes
Until the rain comes

So we put another log on the fire
To melt the ice
That surrounds us
And bells ring
From an ancient tower
But the land is dry
Until the rain comes
Until the rain comes
Until the rain comes....

After a long drought, the rain is coming tonight!!
Sorry you're not here to see this day, Don.
