Just caught a boy kicking my No on 8 sign |

(Proposition 8 for those who may still not be aware is an amendment to the California Constitution that would, in effect, make gay marriage illegal once again.) He was walking home from school with some other kids, about 11 years old. I ran out of the house and said "I saw that!" He started saying "I'm sorry" over and over. Anyway it ended up as a short lesson about respecting different points of view. Doubt it will take hold, but at least he'll think twice before doing something like that again. I've been very vigilant about the one sign I have left, since my first No on 8 sign was stolen and later my Bill Durston for Congress and a school board candidate sign was taken. I'll be able to relax about the sign after today, but perhaps not be able to relax about the results on the proposition.
I'd really like to catch the people who STOLE my signs, but, oh well...

2. Let's cut him some slack... |

Maybe he was just doing what and eleven year old does best. You know, tear stuff up and not really even know why?

my neighborhood is full of Yes on 8 signs and I'm more likely to think he's gotten some brainwashing done by his parents.

Stop making excuses for bad behavior from Republicans and the people they influence. He will just grow up to be one of them.
Thankfully, he was given a lesson by an adult.

5. I swear people don't get what prop 8 does |

They are so blinded by religious hate and lies. I am looking forward to thumbing my nose at any house with a yes on 8 sign. God help the next mormons that knock on my door. Strange that we haven't seen any since the NO on 8 sign was put in the yard and the poster in the front window.
