7. Yep, exactly
People aren't voting for a black president. They're voting for Obama, who happens to be black.

But we are obviously "ready".

10. I'll never forget 1967 and "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner"
John Wade Prentice: "Dad... Dad, you're my father. I'm your son. I love you. I always have and I always will. But you think of yourself as a colored man. I think of myself as a man."

It tore my heart then and it tears my heart now.

5. Just heard on MSNBC
that race didn't seem to be a deciding factor for many people at all.

I'm so glad our country is finally waking up.

to save the day. I admit, I was very nervous about rednecks turning out in masse, especially in, PA, OH, and FL. I'm so happy to be able to exhale.

12. My mother.
She told me today she's "Terrified." I said, whatever Mom. You're more likely to get vaporized with McCain in there than Obama. She didn't like that too much, and she suddenly had a customer.

13. The election of Deval Patrick as Governor of Massachusetts clearly changed my perspective on this.
Once that happened, I finally began to believe that *PRESIDENT OBAMA* was possible.
