3. Have hope! It's gotta be from more conservative areas so far...
because Obama's only up by the same margin and he is supposed to do WAY better than that in CA. I would keep waiting because CA is huge and only 10 percent of the vote is counted so far.

6. I know you're right...
when they start getting the votes from the Bay Area and LA it should change...it's just really depressing to see.

24. The county breakdowns aren't in yet
so we can't say where the vote is coming from, but since the Bay Area and LA generally come in late, there's still some hope.

Last time I checked, Obama's only up 55/44 and is predicted to pull close to 60, so I think a lot of this comes from the smaller, redneck counties.

I'll be so upset if 8 passes. Their campaign was typical Pub fear-mongering crap.

12. It is only 10% so far, and the exit polls placed it as going down in flames
so the night is still young... I hope... otherwise we need to be ready to fight it

As is... the Mormon Church and the Catholic Church should be investigated by the IRS for many a violation

14. Cali is blue
but if you look at it county by county, it looks really red. The red counties are not as populous.

27. I'll try
the further you go from the coast the redder it becomes.

It is also rural in nature. The urban centers are blue and quite the majority

That is LA and San Fran (and we might add San Diego to the list as well, as it did turn blue this election)

So when you look at a map it looks very red as a state, but most urban populations make it blue and dominate state politics... for the most part

That said, we do have some very "traditional" populations... that at times make go AGGGHHHH!

13. Watch the LA Times map
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/politics/cal/la-2008election-california-results,0,1293859.htmlstory

Most of the counties are at 5% reporting or less... let them count the votes. It'll be close, we may not win, but it'll be close. And there are always the courts, and in two years, we put it back on the ballot. And we may not win, then... but eventually, we WILL WIN THE RIGHT TO MARRY.

It will happen.

31. Not good - it will go to the Supreme Court
but it will likely be upheld by the current court. We can only hope that an Obama appointed court will strike it down and deliver equality for ALL Americans, irrespective of race, religion, or sexual preference.
