I know it seems like a long time when you have a team like the Yankees across town, but 22 years seems like a blink of the eye when you compare that to 1908 for the Cubs.

Really, you Mets fans sort of owe us (Cubs Fans) one, for trading former Cub, Bill Buckner, to the Red Sox, because if it wasn't for Bill Buckner's error in Game 6, one that is very typical of what we Cubs fans see every year, the Mets might not have won that one.

But the Cubbies need to find their hearts and wills to win. That's the only thing holding them back. They coulda, woulda, shoulda done it this year but, it seemed to this Northsider, the team wasn't "hungry" Except for maybe Dempster, who clearly had a case of nerves in the worst way. Not good for a pitcher at all.

Having said that, I think Obama will now be like Nirvana was to Grunge. A door opener for a flood of opportunity. I fully expect, and look forward too, seeing many African American, Latino, female and gay people winning elections in government.
