.... to build a 'coalition' government?

We couldn't even get fucking HEARINGS with LIGHTS TURNED ON.

I'm glad he won.

I am far from ready to 'get over it'.

1. He's a teacher
Watch. He's got moves to teach us. He's a natural.

It's gonna be beautiful. It already is.

I'm numb. Virginia is blue.

>I'm numb. Virginia is blue.

I cried. I don't even know what else to do with myself.

I think I just exhaled for the first time in eight years!

Congratulations, Barack Obama, and let's hear it for the millions who wanted change badly enough to come out and VOTE!

7. The whole world changed today
The whole world.

It's gonna take a while to internalize this new reality.

After we stop crying, after the numbness wears off, we're going to be renewed and happy and ready to move forward.

It's gonna be so cool...........................

Obama has awakened the energy of the people of this nation to do remarkable things. I was just thinking - I have no idea if this is doable, but wouldn't it be wonderful if, on Inauguration Day, people had celebrations in their cities and donated goods as their "entry?" Obama already has this great volunteer campaign staff (who are no doubt exhausted) -- but considering the hard times for some, wouldn't it be great if there was some "self-organizing" way Americans could try to help those in trouble now with all the financial mess?

Just a thought. I think it's in the spirit of this new administration. could have live music... Americans are already very fortunate among nations, obviously, but wouldn't it be a nice way to change the way we view our fellow citizens -- direct action.

9. I heard echoes of
"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." I'm old enough to remember watching that speech on that sunny, frigid January day in 1961. (Imagine - the glare made it impossible for Robert Frost to read what he had written, and JFK stood and used his top hat - which he'd only carried - to block the sun on Frost's pages - imagine that!)

Obama has opened the door wide to all of us to surrender to our better selves, to our stronger saints, to the best of what dwells within all of us. As I said, he's a natural-born teacher, and if we just watch his moves, we'll learn a lot. And maybe become better people in the process.

For eight years, we've been locked up, held hostage, threatened with fear and peril and loss, cautioned not to trust anyone, and to stay as apart as possible. We have been powerless.

That's over now. We're set free.

I honestly believe - once again, as I did when I was a youngster watching JFK become President - that we can do anything.

We have so much to give......................

4. He should have been ahead by a lot more than that
My guess is they flipped a number of votes, but Obama's win was so overwhelming that they couldn't flip enough. That's my story and I'm sticking to it
