Those of us here did not like what eight years of George W. Bush did to this country put up and shut up like good Americans, and accepted it. We didn't riot. We didn't take the law into our own hands.

Listen, this election to me was not about race, or Marxism, or a welfare state. It was about electing an intelligent leader who is very composed and can help this country emerge from the financial and moral morass that W and the right wingers put us into. Obama is young and vigorous and possesses the calm and judgment we need.

I suspect we will do fine with Obama as president. I also believe that eventually the Freepers will recede in the rear view mirror. They seem to be too self-centered, ignorant, lazy, and cowardly to really make any significant contribution. I suspect they will eventually give up because real change requires real effort, and in the dream world of the Freepers results without effort are required. Well, 15th century solutions for 21st century problems won't work. It is impossible for a society to evolve backwards. (Or devolve, as Devo used to say.)

Let the Freepers have the red states. We'll take the rest of the country and see how well the Freepers can take care of themselves.
