Shea-Porter wins in NH 1st Congressional District

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) Helped by a tide of anti-
Republican sentiment, Democrat Carol Shea-Porter
won a hard-fought rematch Tuesday in the state's
1st Congressional District.

With nearly half the precincts counted, Shea-Porter
had 53 percent of the vote to 45 percent for
Republican Jeb Bradley.

With the economy dominating headlines this fall, the
two focused their campaign on taxes, fixing the
lending crisis and cutting federal spending.
