Next up for Sarah Palin: U.S. Senator?
Well, now that Ted got himself re-elected, I guess we'll see

http://voices.kansascity.com/node/2666
Sarah Palin could wind up in Washington serving with John McCain after all -- in the U.S. Senate.

Here's the scenario making the rounds of arch-conservative groups strongly in the Palin camp:
After their expected loss today, Palin goes back to being governor of Alaska and McCain remains a U.S. Senator (his term ends in 2011).

But Ted Stevens, the Alaskan Republican senator convicted recently of corruption, is up for re-election today.

Here's where Palin and the Senate come in:

If Stevens wins, he could either step down on his own (unlikely, given his pugnacious personality) or the U.S. Senate could expel him in 2009. Then, Alaska would hold an election to choose a new senator. And, in this version at least, the oh-so-popular Palin would run and win a seat in the U.S. Senate.

1. Full-time Moose hunter?
 She needs to be recalled as Governor, but that will never happen.

Whatever, see ya Sarah!

3. A team? She's too ambitious to go away, and now that national
spotlight has been shined upon her, she's gonna keep popping back up. This looks like the easiest path for her.

6. She could always replace E. Hasslebeck on the view.
Then again, with that level of ignorance, they'd have to fire the flat earth/Jesus came before Moses chick too or Whoppi's, Barbara's and Joy's heads would be exploding daily.

4. Oh so popular?
Exit polls showed that 60% of Americans rejected her dumb ass.

7. I think the writer was talking about her popularity in AK - in light of
Ted Stevens (R-Newly Convicted Felon) being re-elected in a year that has swept so many Republicans from office says much about the voters there.

5. She's got to do SOMETHING to get in the DC crowd. Oh, wait...that's the crowd she wants to expunge?
Hmmmmm.....waiting to see the pix of her return to Alaska.....and out of all her fancy duds. Hypocrite!

I can't see her being too popular in DC. On the other hand, since RepubliKLANS will stoop lower than the bottom of the ocean as evidenced in this campaign, I'm sure there will be PLENTY of scurrilous followers to ride on her coattails to stay in or return to Washington. Lizard Dole will probably be at the top of her list of supporters.
