He's the hidden hero. Without taking anything away from Obama we couldn't have had last night's victory.

2. Absolutely. For all of Obama's talents and skills, if he hadn't |

taken Dr Dean's campaign model and adapted it for himself, if he had run just another good, solid campaign which he was originally poised to do, he would have never beaten Hillary, much less McCain.
His so-called flip-flop on funding was based on his original model of campaigning, and didn't take into account the way he could fund his campaign with Dean's example. He saw it, recognized its potential, and ran with it, and the rest is history.
Were I to go for over-the-top metaphors (and as an atheist I find this one particularly obnoxious) if Obama is the messiah, then Dean was his John the Baptist, who has his head cut off early in his career. (Good thing he grew a new one as DNC chair!)

3. Not to relive the primaries or anything, but... |

One of my big fears about the other candidate winning would be losing Dr Dean. It was pretty obvious the other candidate's camp had little regard for his chairmanship. The party dodged a bullet when Obama prevailed.
