How do you go to the inauguration festivities? |
|
Do you have to have tickets? Be invited? I would love to go. I'm only 4 hours away from DC. Any ideas on what's being planned?

Anyone can go to the Inauguration, but you wouldn't get close to the Capitol. During the week, it's a lot of fun to go to the Mall. Tents will be set up with lots of activities. We went ot Clinton's 1st Inauguration. http://inaugural.senate.gov/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inauguration_Day

2. You have a wide range of choices .... from standing along the parade route to attending ............ |
|
..... one of the many Inaugural Balls.
Nothing needed but your smiling face to do the first.
Connections, tickets, a gown/tuxedo, and the exchange of a prescribed collection of the coin of the realm required for the second. State delegations and special interest groups all hold such balls. I expect the biggest one this year will be Illinois'.

3. It helps to have Democratic connections... |
|
do you have friends or family who are politically connected who might be able to help you out? This is especially true if you want a ticket to any of the balls/parties.
