Fundie freak says Christians must step up the Culture War in the wake of the election
I have a feeling even more crazies will be coming out of the woodwork.

from the American Family Association's OneNewsNow, the news source no Fundie cultural warrior should be without:

Culture war continues after election
Allie Martin - OneNewsNow - 11/4/2008 8:45:00 AM

A pro-family activist is encouraging Christians to become and stay involved in the culture war no matter the outcome of the presidential election.

Matt Barber is director of cultural affairs with Liberty Counsel and also the associate dean of the Liberty University School of Law. Several years ago, he was fired from a Fortune 100 company after he wrote an article, on his own time, warning of the dangers of same-sex "marriage."

He settled with the firm, and now serves full-time on the front lines of the culture war. Barber says many Christians do not realize times are changing and that many free-speech liberties are at stake.

"We have too many Christians who are kind of sitting on their hands, being in the world but not of the world. Well, that doesn't mean that you don't get involved in the process and that you don't stand up for your religious liberties," he contends.

"We have this notion of Christ as being kind of passive and allowing himself to be pushed around. Well, as I recall, Christ at one point went into a temple and started kicking over some tables and throwing some people out of there....I'm not advocating violence -- but it's time for people to start standing up for their constitutionally guaranteed freedoms."

Barber is also a regular contributor to OneNewsNow.com.

2. Yeah, the GBLT community and their supporters
have seen what happens when the "step it up" for bigotry and hatred. I wonder how many homeless and hungry people all those MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars gone to enact Hate Legislation could have housed, clothed and fed. At this moment, I hate all religions.

3. Because the culture war led by Palin worked "so well" this time around
Maybe this shit works when people aren't worried about their pocketbook. I don't know.

That said, you'd think these idiots would spend their time trying to make a real difference for families vs. fighting battles that are based on mythical ideals from the 50's that never existed to start with.

5. Does he have a clue how ironic this passage is?
"Well, as I recall, Christ at one point went into a temple and started kicking over some tables and throwing some people out of there...."

8. Anyone want to guess why Jesus...
kicked the money changers out of the Temple. Here's a hint, it didn't have anything to do with a cultural clash between Jews and non-Jews.

My church dropped the "culture wars" quite a while ago. We're back to doing exactly what the Bible instructs us to do, how's that for "fundamentalist"? It's rather silly to worry about whether the state allows two people to share property rights, health care decisions, and receive the tax benefits commonly associated with marriage. The culture wars only get cranked up when one political party needs to mobilize a block of voters and get them to the polls.

Some of the folks who are using His Church to further their personal political agendas are in serious need of a rebuke.

6. What a bunch of cry-baby scaredy-pants!
They claim to be such patriotic Americans, except when the democratic elections don't go their way. Then they want to declare "war" on it.

They claim to be followers of Christ, except they never miss an opportunity to behave contrary to his examples and teachings.

Go ahead and keep whining about the culture war. It's precisely that mindset that helped bring the Republican party to the sorry state it's in now.

9. Why is everything a goddamned war with these people?
And speaking of Christian nutcases, I'm getting ready to watch the 700 Club with General Pat Robertson, just to see him squirm and shake that fat-bloated head of his.

11. America is still a nation chock full of fundies and anti-intellectualism
Nothing has (or will) change in that regard. Indeed, expect it to get worse over time.
