Nasty Jobs Loss Number - 157,000 lost in October |
|
just in the private market. That is worse than expected, worst number in over 6 years, plus nasty ISM number expected at 10am. Market is looking like it will open down, who knows how the day will go. Wingnuts will try to blame it on Obama of course, which is ridiculous particularly considering everyone in the market expected Obama to win anyway. However I think Obama should hold a press conference today to talk about the job loss number and just hammer the point that he will work to repair the economy.

2. Biggest challenge for Obama |
|
I believe that jobs are going to be the biggest challenge facing Obama.
I just don't see where the new jobs are going to come from. All I've heard from Obama is talk about building jobs from green energy, etc. But I just don't see how a focus on renewable and green energies will create more jobs.
It is absolute the right thing to do, but the way I see it, as jobs are created in green technologies and they get phased in, IF they get phased in, won't that mean job loses in the existing energy markets?
I just don't see that sector as a boom sector, like IT was in the 90's.
