And it would appear that the great majority of McCain's states were the Confederate States which by definition were Un-American. It would seem someone could point out that little bit of inconsistency in Republicans Patriotic fervor.

5. South Carolina did not.
But I have the satisfaction of stating that my own rural precinct, and small county, and little corner of the state remained blue, and went for Obama. And that most of those voters are white.

I really wish all the south bashers on DU would stop and think how they make people like me and my neighbors, black and white, feel before they begin bashing.

South Carolina was American before they were un-American (we were the first province to send supplies to Boston when the Brits tried to starve them out in the 1770s), and has been American again since 1865. Obama doesn't seem to feel the need to cast aspersions on us.

I don't mean to imply that you said anything really bad about us. But there are people on DU who will jump on this thread and spout so much nonsense about the south - sometimes they sound just like freepers in their hatred. And the South Carolinians on this board are already just sick this morning that our beautiful state didn't go blue. So please don't make us feel worse.
