You all, I can't believe it, but it looks like Stevens is going to win Alaska, which means |
|
we might get Senator Palin. Must be something in the water up there. :puke:

1. The fact that Stevens is going to win Alaska means that evidently the stupid is strong there. |
|
Sorry to any otherwise intelligent folks who live there, but this is a hell of an indicator of teh stupid.

16. Wasn't it Missouri that voted for a dead man? |
|
Take it one of three ways.
Option 1: They assume/hope Stevens will be vindicated; Stevens may be corrupt, but he's brought in lots of money for the state (which is one thing that Murtha and Byrd are praised for, bringing home the bacon for their states).
Option 2: They voted to deny the dem the seat. If Stevens resigns or is removed, they have a special election and will have a choice. This says either they want a different dem, or a repub.
Option 3: They're unaware of what happened, i.e., they're ignorant and don't have the common sense God gave gravel.
Of the three options, one denies some fellow Americans respect and dignity.
Take the Missouri vote. Voting for corpse was a sign of great wisdom and sagacity (dems said, since it helped their cause); some repubs said it was stupidity or ignorance (others said that it was a given that they wanted a dem appointed, i.e., "option 3", and even knew who the dem was).
Personally, I think it's a combination of factors: For some, name recognition and not following the news, or even just straight party voting (which is an option not listed above). For more, a combination of option 1 and 3--they'd rather have Stevens than the dem running, or at least have a choice between a different dem and repub.

12. Hey, hey, that is simply not nice |
|
I campaigned for Franken, contributed to him and of course voted for him. So did enough people that we were within 760 votes of a sitting congressdick. That triggers an automatic recount. It ain't over yet, baby. As far as Bachman, well, the district leans so far right that Pat Buchanan could win there.
Don't disenfranchise the efforts of an entire state based on narrow margins.

3. God help us... I need to NEVER hear that voice again! |

I did not defend the use of term screech for Hillary, as I 1. don't think it applies and 2. thought it was being used in a sexist manner.
But, heaven help me, there is no kinder word for what Palin does when she opens her brain-disconnected mouth.
Heaven help us!

11. If Alaska has a special election for his seat she'll have to earn it, |
|
and with all the dirty laundry sitting on the floor there, she may not even win it.
but, as an aside, seriously, how much damage can she do in the Senate. She'll be the junior senator from Alaska. She'll have as her compadre's Jim Imhofe and Jeff Sessions.
She'll be a laughing stock just like those 2 clowns.
