Some of you might be disappointed in Obama.
Be sure to remember that Obama did not run as a Liberal. He ran as someone who would work across the isle. The Repukes tried to label him as 'the most liberal Senator', but that is not the case.
What Obama said during his campaign and what some peoples selective hearing heard are two different perceptions. Prepare for someone who is going to work with everyone, Progressives, Moderates, Republicans to try to make change.
I welcome the change and wish him great success!!!

For eight years we've had an exclusionist president. Someone who wanted to keep as much control for themsevles as possible. Now we have a president who will include everyone...and that's how it should be.

I will be very surprised if there is any kind of meaningful progress on issues such as gay rights, living wage, offshoring of jobs or education. We elected Democrats, NOT progressives. "Less conservative" does not mean liberal, not by any stretch.

There can be no basking in the glow of victory. Just because Obama isn't in office yet doesn't mean he can't wave his magic wand and fix everything instantly.
There will be a lot of this on DU. In the same way Pelosi failed to produce a magic wand in 06, some on DU will view anything short of immediate utopia as an Obama failure.

10. I never said anything about immediate results, did I? That is your delusion, not mine |

I said "meaningful progress." I know full well that things will not change over night; I don't expect it to. Neither do I expect that there will be any genuine effort made to change things, either.
Honestly consider the last two years of Democratic control of Congress, and tell me I have no business being cynical.
