I cried.

Thanks Senator, for NEVER giving up when so many of us were close to throwing in the towel.

Thanks, Senator, for the roar that got us to keep moving so many times when despair threatened to stop us in our tracks.

Thinking back to news film of water hoses, axe handles, dogs all turned on my countrymen.

Thanks, Ted. For keeping hope alive as they took so much from you and yours. Thanks for never letting the ugliness win.
