3. Part of Obama's change that we voted for is changing the tone. We can high-five among ourselves,

but I think that to rebuild this country -- which many of us claim we want -- "fuck you" doesn't build any bridges. We all do better when we all do better, and "fuck you" doesn't fit in to that.

4. The ignorant and the fearful deserve some education and confidence

But there are those willfully subversive of a nation where everyone is created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights. And I will indeed have my "fuck you" at the ready for the likes of Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice and the rest of the cynical gang of thugs who wrenched our country so disastrously off track for their own personal gain.

All of them - the most vitriolic of them - are still our fellow citizens. They should be welcomed to participate in our government, have their opinions heard.
