On Nov 7, 2000, my neighbor and I loaded up his truck with guns and gear for |
|
a hunting trip. We went to vote for Gore early in the morning, and then headed off to the Black Hills in search of adventure. Little did we know that we were driving off into a national nightmare. Eight long years have come and gone. The nightmare never let up. There was the Supreme Court decision of 12/12/00. There was 9-11. Wellstone died. There were the protests, and the invasion of Iraq, and continuing protests. There was the 2004 theft of the Kerry Presidency. My hunting buddy was killed in an accident in that same old red Ford truck almost a year ago.
Last night the nightmare came to an end.
