On Moving into the White House |
|
Just living vicariously; if you were Obama's kids which bedroom would you chose? Would you chose one on the third floor- http://www.whitehousemuseum.org/Floor3.htmOr on the second- http://www.whitehousemuseum.org/Floor2.htmAnd how much do you think they can redecorate to make the room feel like their own?

1. The Third Floor is more fun - I'd pick President Clinton's former music room: |

The music room is a neat room, I also like the solarium. My problem with the third floor is the high windows in some of the rooms currently used as bedrooms, I like 303 though- http://www.whitehousemuseum.org/floor3/bedroom-303.htm.If they were all going to be together on the second floor I like the east bedroom- http://www.whitehousemuseum.org/floor2/east-bedroom.htm

The sunroom has nice windows but it's hard to tell from only a couple of angles what the rooms look like.

5. I think Malia and Sasha will get the third floor ... and Dad will spend time in the workout room |
|
I'd guess Malia would take room 329 and Sasha will take room 327. Room 328 in-between will most likely become their hsared study/homeowrk room. They can have 'sleepover' guests and the Gameroom would probably be outfitted to suit their preferences. I'd be willing to bet the Sunroom becomes a favorite family retreat.
It's entirely possible, however, that the family -- being as close as they are -- would choose to be together on the 2nd floor. In which case, Malia and Sasha would get the West Bedroom and East Bedroom. They'd be emulating the Kennedy family ... and that'd make sense. I suppose a lot depends on how often they host overnight (non-family) visitors in the second floor bedrooms (Lincoln Bedroom and Queens Bedroom) and whether they want Malia and Sasha to be kept apart from the inevitable restrictions on demeanor that'd follow from such visits.

Families with young kids usually like to stay on the same floor, so my guess is that President and Mrs Obama will either chose the Penthouse bedroom on the third floor instead of the usual presidents suit or the two girls will be in the west and east bedrooms, (Chelsea and John John's rooms).
I hoep they are allowed to decorate them and make them their own though.
