Just bought plane tickets to DC!

For Xmas, wifey and I are giving each other tickets to fly out to DC for Obama's big day!! We are absolutely thrilled, and we want to be there when history is made and Obama is sworn in to office!

We lived out in NoVA eight years ago when Bush was (s)elected. We were some of the protesters outside the Supreme Court. We went to his inauguration, and for eight years I've been trying to scrub my brain clean of that memory. I know that this event will totally overwrite (in my head at least) the horror of seeing Bush sworn in.

We have some friends still out there. One is a grumpy republican today, so he's agreed to skip the inauguration and babysit. :woohoo: I'm so excited that I'll get to tear it up with al of my 'blue' friends that day. Now I have TWO countdowns that overlap: The "Bye Bye Bush" countdown, and the "Party with my democrat friends at President Obama's inauguration" countdown!

Im absolutely excited beyond words at this point!

1. Yes, the enemy occupation of our capital city will end in January.

The monuments will shine a bit more brightly for a while -- hopefully, and long, long while.
