It's so quiet.
Had lots of errands to do today and noticed how quiet it was around town. Saw very little traffic, even though I drove by a busy mall. And among hundreds of cars, there was only one bumper sticker, an Obama sticker. The campaign signs were down faster than I've ever seen them come down, too. You would almost never know there was an election the night before.

How is it going everywhere else?

1. perhaps fear of retaliation from RW whackos?
even here in a blue state I am suddenly feeling a bit hesitant to drive around with all my Obama stuff on the car, but damn it! I dont want to take it off!

4. We're going to have to come out sooner or later, because,
sooner or later Barack is going to give a State of the Union speech and these wiley Republicans will figure out that he's still black.

3. Very few McCain/Palin signs in my area, so I don't know if they are down yet.
Lots of Obama signs & most are still up! :) I'm keeping mine up for awhile. It was one of the most splendid autumn seasons in Colorado! It was a pleasure to canvas the neighborhood in such beautiful weather & for such a fabulous ticket!

Hubby worked last night & again tonight, so our celebration will be tomorrow night. I saved a pumpkin to carve the Obama sun into for our little party. It will look good with the Halloween decos that are still up. :D By this weekend, the decos will be packed away & things will return to normal. I may even get a workout in, instead of spending untold hours on DU! ~gasp!

22. Yeah! We got rid of that hateful Musgrave woman, too!
I'm not in that district, but I sent Besty Markey money to help her campaign.

Isn't it beautiful to see a section of blue down the Rocky Mountain region? I had high hopes for Montana, but it just didn't happen - this year. They've got Schweitzer & it was close, so there is hope!

12. Well, I saw something really weird this morning.
The country club golfers were golfing in larger groups than usual. Like five golf carts in one group.

I think they're circling the wagons, only they use golf carts.

14. went to the dentist today and noticed the same thing...
it seems to be a cheerful quiet though. I think people are just tired; it was a long and stressful night.

16. I took my signs down last night because I didn't want them stolen again and because I have to
mow the lawn today. In fact right, I should do that right now.

But I still have my Obama poster on the front door.

20. Yay, Iowa! That's my blue state, where I'm from. Unfortunately, I'm now in Tennessee
where yesterday we voted in a Republican majority State Senate and State House, for the first time since Reconstruction.

Ah well, Tennesse is at least 20-30 years behind the times in everything else, so this should be no surprise.

The big concern here is that the state election Commission and all the County Election boards will now swing to Republican control. And we all know how dangerous that is.

21. people are very happy here
My work was surprisingly overwhelmingly Dem this year. A lot of African-Americans work here and are totally ecstatic. Lots of little Obama shrines on computer desks :)

Two big time loser managers here though! They are the lowest form of life: log cabin Republicans! Fully supported McCain and ALL their agendas! Hope the greed was worth your betrayal, not to mention being ostracized in your own community.
