the purpose of this kind of close-up is to deliberately blur out things like ears and hair and put the crisp focus on the eyes -- the eyes here really "pop" with intensity
i like the photo, even if i didn't know the subject, i think i would like the photo on its merits as an art object
well done
i used to experiment w. close-up a lot and it can be a genuine challenge
