Who would like to see Obama select an openly Gay cabinet member?
It's time. This group got a raw deal in the 2008 election.

6. That was my thinking, too, but I was hesitant to post it.
Barney Frank, Secretary of Interior.

I was afraid some of the thin-skinned would think I was making a homophobic joke.

9. Would that be their chief qualification?
If not, great!

Rachel Maddow at HHS, for example.

She would have several important assets in that job.
Not the least being a history as an AIDS advocate.

Please leave Frank in the house. He would be a great majority whip.

16. Who would I LIKE to see appointed? I don't care in the slightest about their sexuality.
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 05:13 PM by Atman
The fact that he needs to be "openly gay" troubles me. Why can't he just be who he is? Why does this person, whomever he or she might be, have to declare his/her sexuality in order to be a valid cabinet pick?

22. There are a couple of solid people from CA who'd do just fine ...
... Sheila Kuehl, state Senator and Bill Rosendahl, a city councilman for Los Angeles.

Both good people.
