It starts to make sense. What's more valuable: Stevens Begich gen election or a special election?

Alaska hasn't had this much attention since ... well forever. So, if the elect Begich it's over, but if they send Stevens back to be expelled then have a special election, think of all the money that will pour into AK.

3. No love lost
between Sarah and Randy Ruedrich, the Chairman of the Alaska Republican Party -- she tried to get him removed from that position, but failed. It'll be fascinating to see how this power struggle within the party up here shakes out.

Actually, I, for one, would be happy to slink back to our former anonymity. Sarah has done us no favors.

4. You betcha... She can submit her name, but don't THEY have to approve it?
The fairest way would be to have the second highest vote-getter in the previous election (yesterday) to get the nod:)
