Poll question: Which phrase was most damaging to the GOP ticket?
Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 05:22 PM by ColbertWatcher
From the selections below, which phrase uttered by someone associated with the GOP presidential ticket was the most damaging?

A. "The fundamentals of the economy are strong."

B. "In what respect, Charlie?"

C. "That one."

D. "First Dude" or "Maverick" or "Joe the plumber"

E. "As Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska."

F. "I'll have my staff get to you." (McCain answering reporters questions about how many houses he owns)

G. Anything shouted by the morans at their rallies

H. "I was attacked by a big black man who carved a "B" on my face." (of course I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea this is from Ashley B. Todd)

I. "My friends and fellow Americans, I am very pleased and very privileged to introduce to you the next Vice President of the United States Governor Sarah Palin of the great state of Alaska!"

J. Other, see which phrase I feel was the most damaging to the GOP ticket in my reply

1. A.
Saying the fundamentals of the economy were strong, and then less than two weeks later "suspending his campaign" to try to fix said economy. If it were strong, why would it need to be fixed?

17. Not sure of the exact quote.
But it had finger-quotation marks around "'health' of the mother" when referring to women needing abortions. That blew it for some of my pro-McCain co-workers.

12. "My fellow PRISONERS" certainly didn't help him any
As if his obsession with bringing up the POW thing wasn't bad enough before that.

14. Ugh.
I shouldn't post a poll until I ask people what their ideas are first!

19. I: Palin
I almost went with A but I think, if he'd chosen a stronger VP candidate, there's a minuscule chance he might have won.
Or at least not gotten trampled by the fleeing hordes. Palin sank his boat for good, IMHO.
