Last night's approved ballot measures that directly harm GLBT Americans must be defeated. Harvey was a big proponent of coming out. Not for the purpose of making a political statement, but to show the city, county, country, whatever...just how many of us exist. For some of those voters who voted yes on Prop 8, it may have been harder for them to select yes if they knew just who among their friends and family were gay.

There is no reason to be in the closet. You must be honest with yourself. Love yourself. Come out and show the country we are not a small fringe fraction of the community but rather a co-worker, sister, brother, son, daughter, or friend.

It's really easy. I'll start: "I'm gay."

Why would any one in their right mind hold that against you?

The movement to restrict the rights and privileges of gay people on the constitutional level baffles me. I can't understand it at all.

I have never been gay bashed. No one has ever been mean or vocal against me - and I live in Texas for crissakes.

I don't know why some people see "gay" or "same sex" and want to strike it down with all their might. If I had an answer we'd have a better understanding of the tragedy that took place last night.

We can't tell others what THEY must do... we can only speak for ourselves.

Unless you're willing to take responsibility for the consequences of the actions you demand, you have NO RIGHT to tell others what to do.
