Poll question: What makes PRESIDENT-ELECT Obama so cool?
So much has been said about his calm demeanor, but what has contributed the most to make PRESIDENT-ELECT Obama so calm, cool and collected?

2. It's the nature/nurture issue, ya know.
So half to genes, half to environment, and I suspect he is a very old soul.

5. I would agree....
with the old soul idea...

also, I think his early grapplings with his identity...
and his deep faith in something greater than himself...
have aided him in having a strong inner sense of self.

4. Never mind "laid back", we were multi-culti way before it became cool

For instance, there will soon be someone named "Malia" living in the White House. Malia is the Hawaiian version of the name Mary. Neither Obama is of Hawaiian ancestry, yet they chose that for their daughter's name. (There is a conservatroid blogger here named Malia Zimmerman who is as haole as they come, complete with bottle-blonde hair.)

edit: caps

10. I'm quick with the remote, especially the mute button. I hate commercials.
I find myself not muting whenever he comes on.

I have to listen to him.
