How long will DU's honeymoon with Obama last? |
|
Oh, that's right. It's already over. Go get him, DU. Tear Barack Obama down.

1. fortunately, I think the honeymoon is still on for most of us |
|
but, not surprisingly, the sniping has started from some quarters.

Is it happening already?
I know I've buried a dozen "I hated Michelle's dress" threads today.
Whine, whine, whine... that's all some DUers like to do I suppose. But to tear Obama down already is fucked up.
God I hate DU sometimes!

12. Already over on Wall St. and CNBC. |
|
These dicks WANT him to fail, despite the denial of many of my co-workers. Proof positive is a near-500 point sell off and the idiots on Fast Money subsequently trying to stir shit, throwing Cavuto "questions" on their graphics like "Is This Sell-off Related to an Obama Win??". Pundits yesterday claiming that the recession is going to be with Barack at the end of his first term is proof of that. Other pundits claiming he'll be a "one-timer". He's already got a ball and chain around him in the form of the wealthy and their Friedmanist laissez-fail cheerleaders before he even starts.

15. A lot of people loved the nastiness |
|
of the primaries. They were sort of held in check just long enough for the election. Now they want to relive their joy at attacking anyone not "pure" enough for them.
Reminds me of the rural towns where thirty year old ex jocks hang around at the high schools games every Friday night. It was the biggest thing that they were ever a part of and they never managed to move on.

21. Everytime I was led to a primary thread through a link here at GD, I felt like I needed |
|
a shower afterwards. If I visited the primary forum 10 times during that whole period, it was a lot. At least for the most part, when the forum became the Presidential forum, except for trolls, there was some civility. Very soon that forum will shut down and all of the posters that posted mostly there, will be joining GD...this should be interesting.
BTW..What you were describing about the rural town... reminded me of the movie Everybody's All-American.
Peace
:hi:

Edited on Wed Nov-05-08 07:44 PM by Eryemil
I still support him of course and I am hoping he was merely lying to get elected but as of now he's just the (much) lesser of two evils for me.

18. I'd say the moment he annouces some major appointments |
|
I think he's going to do some things that are going to piss off people like us mightily.
Unless I'm mistaken, he's going for a unity governmnent with some AGGGGHHHH! Republicans in the cabinet. I could seriously see Defense Secretary Gates staying on or perhaps being replaced by Colin Powell or Dick Lugar. He may also find a job for Lieberman--which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world--it would get him out of the Senate.
Rumors of Raum Emmanual as Chief of Staff, have sent some DUers into "no way" mode.
Another possibility. Howard Dean replaced as DNC Chair--although this may be Dean's idea--a sacrifice to the Clinton wing of the party.

There isn't one decision ANYONE can make that won't piss off a certain percentage of folks here.
Once he makes some decisions, people here will start getting pissed off.
