"Handout" = any tax expenditure that doesn't directly benefit you.

1. I hate it too.
repugs have used that language to demonize those on welfare. But those same people think nothing of handing over untold sums of money to a place like Walmart. :eyes:

3. Yeah
a better definition than "tax expenditure that doesn't directly go to you" would be "tax expenditure that isn't aimed at white and middle class or wealthier people."

hand-out (n) (derogatory) 1) Any money given to anyone you wish would go away 2) Any money given out to anyone that you did not qualify to receive

WAAAAAAAAAH! (flings self to ground) (stomps feet) But it's ALL MINE I EARNED IT (snort--did you ever see one whining like that that DID?) and I DOAN WANNA SHARE!!!

When President Obama referred to "immaturity" I believe he was referring to bullshite like this. You know. Grownups acting like two year olds because eight nilla wafers is not enough, they need ALL TEN.

Don't wanna share? Fine. Stop driving on roads, using public schools, going to doctors, calling cops, using public water, expecting the fire department, eating anything the FDA approved.....

Why is it they only want us to behave like a tribe--for the good of the whole tribe--when it costs them nothing? I'm pretty sure that gives me a good idea of who should NOT be in the tribe, and it ain't the people who need a "handout"

EDIT: Okay, (kicks feet) because if I'm kind of lying in the middle of the Walmart aisle, I can't really stomp. Bad writing. Bad bad XIX.

5. We've been brainwashed to believe any tax money that doesn't go to a corporation is a "handout"
They use terms like "entitlement", "pork", and "earmark", to demonize money that is returned to the taxpayers. If my town earns a government built museum, I don't call it pork, I call it a capital improvement in the social infrastructure.

If they throw away billions in Iraq or on oil subsidies, they say it's an essential budget item.
