Palin could end up in the Senate if Stevens resigns???

If Stevens resigns, Palin could step down and have her deputy governor swear her in as Senator for state of Alaska.


This was just discussed on the Rachel Maddow show. It has been done before. And maybe we'll luck out with a recount that results in a Dem favor.

And maybe I shouldn't be nervous?

That is, the Alaskan Governor does not have the authority to appoint a replacement for Stevens.
