Drudge blows it again!!
Drudge has a headline up that reads:

'Record inactivity' --Atlantic Hurricane Season 'lowest in 30 years'...

and links to a web site for the story. The site has a big correction at the top of the page...

Note!!! The Drudge headline is incorrect -- it is "Northern Hemisphere" Tropical Cyclone Activity Lowest in 30 years. This includes the Pacific ocean as well, which has seen dramatically below average activity. When combined, historically LOW levels of "hemispheric" activity are being experienced. This is 24-months -- meaning last year (2007) was also historically inactive!

At least somebody is calling him on his b.s. Some times you just gotta laff!

1. um...
their correction indicates that he actually UNDERSTATED the report. They say their report ALSO included the pacific ocean and that was low also. So yeah, his link was wrong, but he actually understated their story.

So what exactly was his BS ?????

4. well
well, he can't screw up those stories can he.

Drudge screws a lot up and overexagerates a lot, I just don't think this particular one ranks up there on the list of all time Drudge screw ups.

6. Well, it goes without saying that you'd defend Drudge.

7. not defending drudge
I don't think I was really defending drudge. I just don't think that this error is as bad as other errors he makes, nor is it as much as an stretch of a story as he makes others. Look at his site right now. There are at least 1/2 dozen other stories that he has higher up on his site that are worse than this story.

And as far as my other posts, I will stand by that one. Obama had a very solid win, and I am perfectly fine with that. I do not support him OR McCain with his horrible campaign and selection of Palin ( what a frickin' joke that was ). Nor did I vote for Bush either time. And even though I did not vote for him I will respect Obama until/if he does something to screw things up. I will wait and see what happens. However, that does not change the fact that Obama's numbers were not higher than Clinton's ( at least not when I made that post. I haven't gone back and looked to see updated numbers on the states yet decided ) and other elections. They are what they are. He had a clear majority in both the EC and in the popular vote and that is nice to see. At least we don't have to deal with courts and other nonsense. The people spoke, but I don't think it was a complete ass kicking, maybe a slap.

I would vote for more democrats, but the democrats in NJ have completely turned me off. And in my opinion, Obama is very much like NJ democrats, and that is my only concern with him.

3. Speaking of the tropics
Cuba could be dealing with a major hurricane in a few days.

5. Now this is funny...
...when I saw your post, I stopped at "Drudge blows" and nearly missed the "it again." Shows how biases affect your perception. :-)
