Hey, Talking heads, pundits, radio show hosts and all you other so-called
"opinion makers"...

Your taxes are gonna go up...

Quit whining about the country being a center right nation...

Look who won...

Sure there are Conservative roots that run very deep in our culture. The respect for individual right and the right to be left alone by the government, but there is also a strong liberal streak in this country that has been distorted by these so-called "Opinion Makers" when it comes to reconciling that strong independent streak with an innate feeling that we are all in this together.

And guess what, that part, the part you hate so much, is the part that makes us a spiritual nation, not in practice but in our collective core belief.

There was a real clear choice made last Tuesday and that was people are turning toward an activist government as they have done time and time again when a crisis arises.

1. I'm tired of these nickel & dime red ink Republicans complaining about
higher taxes. Fuck them! They and their dear leader have caused the problems in this country. They deserve to pay whatever it costs to put things right again even if it leaves them penniless and destitute.

2. I prepare taxes for a living and feel that people who make the most
should pay a larger percentage of their income in taxes.

For me it's very simple; you have more at stake in the stability and continuity of the country as your wealth and income increases. Therefor, you should pay more to protect your way of life.

Most everything that the government does is directly or indirectly related to the protection of capital investments. That's all their is to it.

I think Obama will be able to construct arguments along this line in order to push through social change as well as financial stability...
