Winners and losers 2008 (Politico)
On the face of it, Tuesday’s winners seem obvious: Barack Obama, congressional Democrats, Big Labor, liberals.

Yet the ultimate verdict on the victors will come not from a single night of election returns but from the actions the winners take to remedy the nation’s economic ills and extricate it from two long and costly wars.

Picking Tuesday’s losers is easier: Republicans, their allies and their ideas.

LOSERS:
President Bush
Steve Schmidt
Rudy Giuliani
ACORN
Sen. John Ensign
Bill Kristol
James Dobson
Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman
Ronald Reagan

WINNERS:
The Axe Squad
Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine)
Michelle Obama
Howard Dean
Andy Stern
FDR

1. The biggest losers are...
The Clintons.

The gave tepid support to Obama throughout the entire campaign. Only towards the end did they show up when they knew he was going to win, and they figured they better be on his good side.

Their grip on the party is now over. He destroyed their machine and is the new undesputed leader of the Dem party.

3. GLTBT Rights - Big Losers
At least three states (Arizona, California and Florida) voted to deny equality to homosexuals.

I think it's headed for a fight in California because the vote was so close, but still it never should have been that close. And I am ashamed of Florida, where over 60% of the voters said "yes" to this piece of bigotry.
