Buying Blue Question...
Hey folks,

My favorite breakfast place has gone the way of the economy. Not enough people out there who will support local business over the big chains. So now the question is which of the chains is a bluer company....My choices are Panera Bread or Bruggers Bagels. I am pretty sure that Panera is a national chain. Bruggers may be regional but they are huge around here.

Any thoughts???

3. freeps made a list of companies to boycott for supporting Obama
included Starbucks and many other things. You could use that the opposite way. :D

What's funny is, they also talk about boycotting FOX NEWS (!) because they called the election for Obama, and GE, among some other really amusing things. Morans.

Many of them are saying they'll stop buying anything altogether and stop paying taxes, so they can make Obama's administration fail. Gee, great to see who really hates America, right? I wish someone would convince them to boycott Rush Limbaugh, as he helped Obama by suggesting his listeners should vote for him in the primary to keep Clinton out - which is hilarious in its own right.

These people are sick. They talk about removing all of their money from the stock market, and how they'd rather burn it than give it to a poor person. WTF. So, the very objection they claimed to have is kinda moot when it turns out they'd rather destroy the stock market and their own money instead of giving away a small part of it.

7. I looked at the thread, but it's mostly just yelling, and not exactly "information-rich."
I was hoping they'd managed to compile a nice, neat list I could copy-and-paste, but no such luck.

8. there's a not-so-neat list on page three if you can make it that far
but most are big corporations more than breakfast places. And most of those corporations give to both sides.

11. oh yeah - their user interface is horrible
I can't stand it, even beyond the questionable content.

The funny thing is, I have seen them comment that they're confused by our site, which I think is one of the more easily navigated sites I use! I guess when they're used to writing on bathroom walls, anything else is confusing.

4. Brueggers is a franchise
so the best thing to do is find out who owns your local one, and see if they made any political contributions. I looked up several owners in several locations, and all of them that I found donated to Democratic parties.

If I knew the city you lived in, I could possibly find something.

5. Corporations are not "blue" or "red". Corporate boards have a fiduciary responsibility to maximize
profit that supersedes all other responsibilities.
