Check out how the military news reported the elections.
Page from Stars and Stripes about veterans who won Congressional seats.

The interesting points are:

How Lindsey Graham is considered a veteran:

"Graham is a colonel in the Air Force Reserve and spent time performing legal duties in Iraq for more than a month over two active-duty tours in 2007. "

and

:wtf: does this paragraph mean????

"Three other veterans who won re-election Tuesday — Rep. Chris Carney, D-Pa.; Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa.; and Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn. — were deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, without ever entering Afghanistan.

2. I think its a fine
service to those serving in uniform. Some of them may have been stationed with the congressmen listed. Or its an update on how their congressmen fared in the election. While I detest Graham's politics with every fiber of my veteran soul he is still a veteran who has served his country in uniform and for that I salute him and the others.

5. I am not disagreeing with you at all.
I was pointing out the perspective of the article,
which seemed to stress undue importance that 3 Dem. veterans had not served in Afghanistan, but did not make that distinction about the Republican veterans.

3. Carney and Sestak were in the Navy
Walz was with the National Guard for 24 years and deployed to Italy with his unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom before retiring in 2006.

6. Rove's handpicked monkey, Tim Griffin, had his resume padded the same way.
He was given the Arkansas USA job after they illegally fired Bud Cummings, and his resume went up on the DOJ page, claiming him as an Iraq war veteran, did not mention he had only served for four months, as a JAG officer in Mosul, Iraq.

While still on DOJ payroll as it happens.

He resigned after his 2004 caging activities became public, but worked on McCain's 2008 campaign.
