Election Fraud in Alaska?? Maybe Alaskans aren't really this corrupt and stupid...
Pollsters miss mark in Alaska elections (yah sure)
http://www.adn.com/politics/story/580341.html

The pollsters all agreed.
Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich would whip Republican Sen. Ted Stevens in Tuesday's election. Maybe by a little. Maybe, as some polls predicted, by a landslide.

For months, the same pollsters predicted a solid win for Democrat Ethan Berkowitz over incumbent Republican Rep. Don Young in the battle for Alaska's lone U.S. House seat.
Then everyone voted....

Anchorage pollster and political consultant David Dittman, who often works for Republicans and is a Stevens supporter, predicted a solid Begich win the day of the election.

"If I look at what we've done around the country, we're pretty much in the ballpark everywhere," Ali said.

Except here.

Another national polling firm, Rasmussen Reports, accurately predicted every Senate race in the country within the margin of error in their most recent polls -- again, except for Alaska.

2. Begich was projected in many polls to win big
Makes one wonder with a guy like Ted Stevens.

I just don't trust a convicted felon with elections

We will be monitoring closely the vote counting by the State. Already we’ve heard a few interesting reports at precincts that don’t make much sense.

For example, in the North Slope village of Wainwright, the Division of Elections doesn’t show a single vote for me, while the Libertarian candidate got 90, the non-partisan candidate received 84 and Senator Stevens got 8. That just defies common sense. I flat out won five of the other seven villages on the North Slope.

7. Maybe it's just the "Stevens effect"
Like the fabled Bradley effect, except it's the phenomenon in which you claim you're gonna vote for the clean guy and not the felon, but when you get to the voting booth your Repug-ness overwhelms you so that you just have to pull for the poor felon...

8. Here's a great comment from the ADN
"Alaskans, which have a combined IQ that is higher than most U.S. resident, outsmart pollsters everytime."

Our combined IQ is higher than most US residents

12. MartyL, I too refuse to believe that Alaskans are this corrupt
and stupid. I assume you attended one or all of the anti-Palin or pro-Obama rallies here in Anchorage and saw the comparison with Sarah's rallies. There's just no way that all that enthusiasm wouldn't have translated into a tighter margin for Obama and a big win for especially Mark. I just know there's something shady going on here.
