Gates to stay on as Secretary of Defense, then Colin Powell to take over??!!
At the Pentagon, there has been discussion about Defense Secretary Robert Gates staying on for some months.

these prognostications are navel-gazing..Obama is a master at planning..he probably HAS everyone all lined up..just not ready to tell us :)

11. So we know more about this than Obama? Give this new administration time to put things together.
If Obama chooses to have Gates stay through the transition, I assume he has more information than we do. I voted for him because I think he is brilliant. This is not the time for us to be second guessing him and putting pressure on him to "do it our way". Can we relax for a little while, take a deep breath and see how they do?

13. Seems like a lot of chicken littles to me. He was elected on Tuesday and by Thursday there are all
kinds of gloom and doom reactions. We have no idea whether these reports are true. We have no idea who he plans on appointing.
