42. No, sorry, I figured Booth was the dog's name.
I guessed it was a Rodrique painting, and that Booth 2001 was the title. I was laughing at the image of a dog named after a killer, in a thread about Barney biting a reporter. Now that I think more on it, it's not as funny, as I remember who Booth killed. Didn't realize it was the artist's name. Looking closer, I should have realized it wasn't Rodrique, but I didn't. :)

Barney Gets Territorial

By Al Kamen
Not everyone in the White House is taking the news of Barack Obama's victory with aplomb.

Reuters television White House correspondent Jon Decker reports that President Bush's dog Barney, going on a walk this morning on the North Lawn, let his reaction to the news show.

He "bit my right index finger this morning -- as I reached down to pet him," Decker said. The bite broke skin and the wound was bleeding enough to prompt White House physician Dr. Richard Tubb to treat Decker with antibiotics. He will also be getting a tetanus shot.

55. Especially when they are small dogs
who are not allowed to be dogs. Barney was always being carried when I saw him. He's getting on in years and bound to be a little cranky. Imagine what the poor little guy has been through, with an owner like that. Carried for the camera, and probably ignored or locked in a crate in private.

I remember an episode of the Dog Whisperer that was about a little long-haired chihuahua named Paris. Her owner dressed her in all kinds of little outfits and carried her around in designer bags. People were always oohing and aahing over her and she would snap at them.

Milan's answer to the problem was simple - WALK THE DOG.

48. "history of biting"
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/11/ruh-roh-is-barn.html

ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: Barney, one of two of the president's Scottish terriers, bit a reporter Thursday.

Barney has a history of biting. On West Wing White House tours, visitors are not permitted in the Rose Garden if Barney is outside because he has bitten visitors in the past.

The victim Thursday was Jon Decker who works for Reuters TV. Decker asked the dog handler if he could pet Barney and after he received the go-ahead, Barney snapped and broke skin on Decker's finger.

Decker is reportedly fine after seeing the White House doctor, although his finger is still bleeding.

First time I've heard Barney is a biter. Now for all the rest of the hidden, secret info from the Bush years to come out. }(

As a child I was attacked by a scotty dog. :(
It was on the inside of my upper arm. I was five and had to go to the hospital to get stitches. Those little dogs can do some damage!

be that as it may, since the dog apparently is a repeat offender, i hope the reporter sues their sorry ass and is awarded a fortune

it is just wrong to allow a known biter to access to people, even if it's the resident's dog
