It's worth the click. :) Have I ever steered you wrong? Don't answer that. -WB Zell Miller was right — sort of http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/05/zell-miller-was-right-sort-of/

1. How is the country "center-right" again? |
|
All I hear from the right-wing pundits these days (and they're out all en masse ) is "Obama needs to lead as a centrist because America is center-right".
Not according to the electoral map for 2008 it ain't!

He won states in EVERY region of this country and flipped several "red" states. If that isn't some kind of mandate for "change" -Obama style- then I don't know what would be.

8. boo, it's just that silly map again |
|
People are burying the Republican party, apparently, when it is not even dead, much less does it have a stake through its heart. That map only shows 1,2,3% shifts as if they are total victories. Look, Utah is blue!! Because it went from 68% Republican to 63% Republican.
To use a sports analogy, it's silly to do a victory dance at the 30 yard line or start celebrating because you are 5% ahead at halftime.
