Don't get me wrong, of course, Palin would have made a nightmarish VP or President. I can't imagine anyone disagrees with me on that. But, take a moment and pretend you're not a Democrat, but a McCain supporter. If you can't do this little exercise please just stop reading and go on to some other thread.
Ok, to whomever is left: Imagine how the McCain supporters are watching this feel when they turn on their most trusted news source (Fox) and see no less than Fox News Chief Political Correspondent, Carl Cameron,
breathlessly excited to share with viewers the most damning
anecdotes possible about Sarah Palin's behavior and intelligence on the campaign trail. He performed his little "dish session" with Shep Smith and
Bill O'Reilly- I'm sure there were probably more.
Stay in the Republican voter frame of mind, no-matter how bad it hurts.
What are you thinking if you are a Republican voter right about now? You're probably putting two and two together on a few fronts.
:redbox: The first is that Palin was as ignorant- even
more-so than even the "Liberal media" portrayed her as.
:redbox: You're also realizing about now that Fox news is pretty much admitting that they lied to you the entire time and they were just waiting till the election to see if you were dumb enough to be suckered by their lies before telling you "the truth", or what they want you to believe as the truth, now.
I find this fascinating and didn't have to wonder long why they would do such a thing: The GOP believes that Sarah Palin may actually be a contender in the 2012 Presidential election and that she must be stopped
at any cost so that the likes of Mitt Romney can have another crack at it.
I don't think there's a better, more arguable explanation of why they would do such a thing. McCain's aides- god I love this part, are going insane right about now, realizing that they've lost the election and their job prospects in the near future are drying up faster than the ink drying on the stacks of resumes they're sending out.
Unlike "Joe the Plumber" who has no problem fading back into the woodwork- after releasing a C&W single no doubt, Palin saw her opportunity to grab more power and like a good NeoCon went for it with everything she had. She needed to be kneecapped in the worst possible way so business as usual for the GOP could continue.
This is great theater, IMO, because like the ending of some slapstick comedy the bad guys are not only thwarted at the end but wind up in a fistfight as they flail around in a pile of manure. This will probably go on well into next week, if not longer, as various factions fight to point fingers at others instead of themselves.
In the mean time, Republican voters are watching in disbelief as the GOP trashes what was up until just
a few days ago their shining example of an every-day American mother and exemplary member of their party. Can you imagine the cognitive dissonance going on
in those brains right about now?
Bwa-ha-ha!
Nothing could top Obama winning but I gotta say Obama winning
and the Republican party publicly self-destructing in the most gruesome way possible (far worse than anything I would have predicted as happening in a "reasonable" world) is just....
DE-FUCKING-LICIOUS!PB
