Al Franken Recount Fund
There was a close US Senate race in Minnesota.

There will automatically be a hand-count of the ballots, which have been scanned.

The Al Franken campaign is asking for donations, I assume for lawyers:

11. Question
If under Minnesota law an election this close requires an automatic recount, Why Does Al Have to Pay For it?

14. The legal bills will be huge as this will almost certainly end up in court and MAYBE the US Senate.

3. Sadly, this is needed... though it shouldn't be.
The SOS & election judges ought to be able to conduct the recount unmolested, but Normie will undoubtedly have his team of molesters so Franken will have to counter that.

...the recount will be a hand-count.

16. So the recount is paid for, and this money is for legal bills? Please change Post title
To Franken legal fund or something... I think the title is untrue

17. I don't see the distinction.
Anyone who lived through 2000 Florida knows you need teams of lawyers for a recount - especially when your are dealing with the national GOP.

Furthermore, the OP says it's for legal bills.

22. Because sometimes you pay for a recount. In this case, state pays for it

18. Campaign Workers Too
I believe the Franken campaign is trying to cover expenses for campaign worker expenses to be at every site - sounds like Coleman will do the same. I think it's getting campaign workers and volunteers to be onsite monitors (my word)...not just legal expenses.

From the email:
We are going to put staff in place in every county in Minnesota to ensure that every vote is properly counted. And we need you to help fund our effort.

25. E-Voting Machines Used in Disputed Franken, Coleman Race Failed Tests

By Jason Leopold

Thu, 06 Nov 2008 11:48:00

(The Intelligence Daily) -- Electronic voting machines that a Michigan election official said last week incorrectly tabulated vote counts during pre-election tests in the state were used in Minnesota where the senate race between Republican incumbent Norm Coleman and Democratic challenger Al Franken is in dispute.
