Couric's leading for the CBS Evening News.

They also ran a story on a restaurant in Elkhart, Indiana, where the owner is laying off employees. "This is the hardest thing I've had to do in 15 years." One employee: "My mom had her house forclosed and now she lives with us." Owner said business began to drop off when gas hit $4 a gallon and then when the credit/bailout hit, business plummeted.

..They are not tight.. they are BROKE! Unemployment the highest since 1980 and growing daily.

Here's a hint for the geniuses in the news media, "you can't buy much without a job and sure ain't giving anything away."
