Texas DUers
Did Dems take control of the two largest counties -Dallas and Harris County. I also heard that the Rethugs judges were sent packing.

1. Harris Cty
I think most Dem judges won. Not all.

They claim turnout was lower than expected. ??

4. Oh do they?
That's interesting. It's too bad we didn't get Bettencourt out of there.

3. The Texas forum
has several threads on the outcome in Texas.

I don't think we got "control", but we did make huge progress. Dallas, Harris and Travis counties all went for Obama. The THREE largest counties.

5. I believe Bexar (San Antonio) did as well.
I'd verify, but it's hard to look at electoral maps on my dialup - I looked at work and called it having a peek at the news.... ;) I think I'm remembering right, though.

And the valley and west also. The presidential divide was 55/44. We will be blue next time.

Jefferson county (southeast) surprises me. There is a big percentage of racial diversity in that area, but also a lot of OIL MONEY.

8. Obama won Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso and the Valley.
3.5 MILLION Texans voted for Obama. Repub. judges in Harris Co. (Houston) all lost. All rebub. judges thrown out in Dallas Co. in 2006.
