Actually I'm a long-time lurker on DU (also long-time lurker on freerepublic, but mainly just for giggles :D).

And yeah it's high time the world stopped equating the American people with the Bush administration. When they do that, they're no better than the right-wing rhetoric of e.g. lumping together all muslims with governments / terrorist organisations.

14. I think the main emotion there is probably RELIEF.

As stressful as it's been to be an American the past 8 years, I can't imagine how stressful it's been for much less powerful countries feeling that we were unpredictable and more than a little unstable.
