The most important responsibility of any government is the protection of its citizens.

Amid the dissonance, hubbub and hoopla of the interminable political campaigns, I have not read or heard one word of commendation for the Bush administration's total success in preventing terrorist attacks similar to those of 9/11. No one thought that was possible seven years ago.


Saddam Hussein has been brought to justice. The other evil, cowardly culprits who incite their fanatic followers to perpetrate suicide missions are cringing in caves and burrows in Afghanistan and Pakistan. U.S. intelligence capabilities have been expanded and strengthened, and coordination among security agencies greatly enhanced.

We should all be very grateful to the president and his subordinates for these major achievements. We can only hope that our incoming leader will do as well.

Unbelievable. Yeah, never mind that the WORST ATTACK EVER happened on the WORST PRESIDENT EVER's watch!!!

The first job of any president is national security and President Bush did a great job keeping the Islamic terrorists from striking us again on our soil. The Bush haters would tie our hands behind our back and blindfold us as they have tried to do. The Patriot Act enabled us to uncover numerous terrorist plots and prevent them from happening.

President Bush has correctly stated that we only have to be wrong once and we could see innocent citizens slaughtered again as we witnessed on Sept. 11th. Thankfully, President Bush and our security forces haven't "been wrong even once" and for that he deserves our gratitude. He was right to take the fight to our enemies in Afghanistan and Iraq. President-elect Obama needs to keep the pressure on America's enemies and continue Bush's successful national security policies; God help us if he doesn't!

Uh . . . 9/11 happened on Bewsh's watch, with his foreknowledge. There's your "wrong even once", stupid.
