One of the freepers at work is already complaining about Obama
being elected and how the country is doomed.

A Dem friend of mine told the freeper, "Don't worry -- the horrible feeling in your stomach goes away in 4 to 8 years..."

1. Hang on to your hat -- DU will join the chorus of jeers as time moves on.
Obama isn't nearly leftist enough for a lot of those here.

3. Fuck 'em.
For the first time in 8 years I have hope for my country and hope for my children.

There is nothing anyone on DU can do to change that.

11. EXACTLY! And a lot of us got in trouble (I got my posting
privileges taken away) for openly stating that he isn't the guy who a lot of people think he is.

He is not a 'liberal'. That does not mean that he isn't the best man for the job because he is. And I believe he will deal with issues such as poverty, jobs, Iraq & Afganistan, etc. But I think a lot of people are gonna be disappointed. He's not a 'let it all hang out' kinda guy.

4. Southpark's last show had them all moving into a mountain ark cave
because the world would end and ending up in the hospital after failing to commit susiside.
Obama supporters ended up in the hospital too from over celebrating with alcohol poisoning.

Was it that obvious to most people or was I really worried for a reason?

7. Somebody's always going to be upset...
might as well be them. Seriously, though, anything done by the Obama Administration will be opposed by somebody. Only the most glazy-eyed of Obama-worshippers will be totally satisfied. The other 90-plus percent of us will sooner or later find something we disagree with. Welcome to democracy!

9. I heard how the Obama election forced the markets to dive ....
After pointing out the folly of that statement, I heard a list of horrific policies that Obama was going to execute, from banning guns of many sorts to the institution of a full on Marxist state ...

I told these persons I would GLADLY compile a list of their assertions, and paste it to the wall, so we can revisit it every few weeks during the next years .... I explained I would certainly have much to gain from their obvious powers of prognostication .... It would be proof to the world how 'right' they are ....

They started to quiet, drifting away slowly ....

"HEY ! ... Wait: Where are you going ? .... Let's get that list going .... I'll write it ....."

Whooosh ... gone ....

16. The perfect response
Oh, you're all worried? Let's write down a list. It doesn't surprise me a bit that not one of these blowhards doesn't want to put it in writing, because they know just how idiotic they are.

10. Great response! But in all seriousness what do they dread?
Having more jobs? Doing something concrete about global warming? Getting a tax break?

Poor little freepers. Life is going to be so hard for them! Hiding under their beds, clutching their guns while no one comes to pry them out of their cold dead hands!

:sarcasm:

It's gotta be a brain freeze when nothing expected happens.

15. That's what I asked him.
He started the usual rant about raising taxes, spreading the wealth, etc...and I just turned and walked away.

There is no sense arguing with those people.

18. One of the posters here recently showed maps of...
states with lowest per capita income, and states that vote the most solidly Republican. Virtually all of them are the same ones. Pretty clear that they vote against their own best interests--time and time again.

20. There is another map or chart ...
Which I dont have handy ...

It shows the ratio of states that provide tax revenues versus which states spend the most revenues ....

By a large margin: Blue states pay most and get less while red states pay less and get more in return ...

The whole 'pay your own way' thing doesnt seem to work for them ....

I recommend we cut them loose, and form a confederation of blue states, denying the red states anymore support ....

How can they expect to 'stand on their own two feet' if we keep feeding them free money ?

SOMEBODY here has that chart ....

Usually the same people who think unions are horrible--when unions would've helped them a lot.

(not the corporations or the bankers) and that he knows this, I think anything Obama does will be an improvement to the criminals in office now.

22. You should see my conservative friends' posts on Facebook.
I just joined this week because a friend from college moved his blog there, and honestly, it's been sinfully fun to read how upset they all are. Just because Obama won doesn't mean God's removed his hand from America, everything will be okay because God's still in charge, join the pro-life prayer ring, Obama getting elected means that infanticide will become law and our country will become Communist and on and on.

I just keep posting that it's morning in American again. Pisses them off.

25. Stage 4 Of The Grieving Process...
Use this to gauge the Freeper and wingnut responses you see:

1-Denial-"this can't be happening to me", looking for the former spouse in familia places, or if it is death, setting the table for the person or acting as if they are still in living there. No crying. Not accepting or even acknowledging the loss.

2-Anger-"why me?", feelings of wanting to fight back or get even with spouse of divorce, for death, anger at the deceased, blaming them for leaving.

3-Bargaining-bargaining often takes place before the loss. Attempting to make deals with the spouse who is leaving, or attempting to make deals with God to stop or change the loss. Begging, wishing, praying for them to come back.

4-Depression-overwhelming feelings of hopelessness, frustration, bitterness, self pity, mourning loss of person as well as the hopes, dreams and plans for the future. Feeling lack of control, feeling numb. Perhaps feeling suicidal.

5-Acceptance-there is a difference between resignation and acceptance. You have to accept the loss, not just try to bear it quietly. Realization that it takes two to make or break a marriage. Realization that the person is gone (in death) that it is not their fault, they didn't leave you on purpose. (even in cases of suicide, often the deceased person, was not in their right frame of mind) Finding the good that can come out of the pain of loss, finding comfort and healing. Our goals turn toward personal growth. Stay with fond memories of person.

Get help. You will survive. You will heal, even if you cannot believe that now, just know that it is true. To feel pain after loss is normal. It proves that we are alive, human. But we can't stop living. We have to become stronger, while not shutting off our feelings for the hope of one day being healed and finding love and/or happiness again. Helping others through something we have experienced is a wonderful way to fascilitate our healing and bring good out of something tragic.

I went on Cafe Press to buy me some Obama schwag, and they already had "Impeach Obama", and the date of the next inauguration on t-shirts.
