Those Who Are Still Proud And Excited As Hell About Obama's Victory Check In!
Fuck the naysayers! On the drive in to work it hit me all over again. No more politics through fear. No more unconstitutional laws. No more complete lies and deceit to the masses from the President. No more completely irrational policy. Landslide election victory. Increased majority in Congress. The supreme court protected. One of the greatest candidates of our time elected. Holy shit I'm still so fucking inspired and excited about his victory!

Fuck the naysayers! GOBAMA!!!!

I had forgotten how it felt to believe in the potential in my country again. I'm a Progressive, but I have seen the wisdom of governing from the center. It's infinitely preferable to Bush's constant trashing of everything this country stands for. Period.

But I bet he pulls some Progressive stuff when it comes to global warming and the economy.

25. Me too!
I wasn't an Obama supporter from the start. I sort of came to him by default but the more I watched him and his campaign the more I came to realize that this man knows what he is doing and how he wants to get there. He's proven in the long and difficult campaign that he can convince people to support him. Now we need to let him do his job and stop second guessing every single thing he does.

I know without a doubt that there will be things he does that I won't like, as well as things that I will be thrilled with. But I know that all will be done with the calm and thoughtful process that he has shown that he uses. Because of that, I'm not worried about the things that will come up that I will disagree with him. I know that he knows where he wants to take this country and probably has a better idea of how to get there than I do.

So, I will trust that the brilliant man this country was so smart to elect will make the best and most informed decisions to get us back to a great nation.

32. I heard that song played yesterday on KUT - Austin
And John Ailey a very popular local DJ on this station said it was something he had forgotten to do on Wednesday morning to celebrate the election.

Here's a YouTube video of Johnny Nash singing it.

I am grateful that Joe Biden is getting National Security Briefings every morning, instead of the Wacko from AK.

I am grateful that our African American brothers and sisters can hold their heads up, and feel pride in this country, instead of having the hate- and warmongers strutting about.

I am grateful that the next four years are going to rock, because we have A ROCK in the White House.

I hate that this sounds like a campaign slogan... but seriously, there is hope in the air! :patriot:

I remember all too well the heavy grief so many of us felt upon learning the unbelievable results of the last presidential election. How completely opposite this feels! Obama already has his change.gov site up, and is diving into work... he's keeping the momentum going. He's smart, and the world is hopeful.

56. Hi Faye!
I haven't seen you in ages!

Wanna know a little known fact? You were one of the main reasons I fell in love with DU, and you were one of the people that taught me so much that I didn't know. You were a huge catalyst into my thrusting myself into the world of politics, and you had no idea!

The day after the election in 2004, I knew something didn't seem right. I sought out answers online, and by that afternoon had found posts on other democratic websites hinting at fraud in Ohio. As I kept reading, I kept seeing a site called democraticunderground mentioned. I started to check it out.

Once here, I immediately was blown away by the level of information here and how much I was being misled by the media and how many things they'd NEVER say. I became obsessed with the forum back then, called something like 2004 Election Results, and you were a huge part of that. I was a lurker then, and stayed a lurker for quite some time until joining in 2005. But I paid close attention then, and it started my love affair with this site. I remember you quite well back then, and some others like Straight Shooter, Seito, and some others whose names I can't recall right now. You fought such a good fight then, and I still wish the results had turned out differently. But whenever I see your name (do you post here much anymore?), I immediately warp back to that time period when I first found this site and fell in love with it, and how much I learned from you and some others in that forum. Politics to me would never be the same and I would never trust the media again. I owe you so much. Just felt the need to say that!

I don't post that much but I am always on DU! *Literally* always. I think I said so much back in 2004-2005, that I don't know how to post anymore LOL.

But that is nice to hear, it makes me feel good..thank you! I am so glad we don't have to go through that again this election. I wouldn't have the time nor energy to get so obsessed with election fraud again. As horrible as it all was, I sometimes have nostalgia for those days because it was like we were a part of this small group of people in this country who really knew what happened :(

But we don't have to worry about that this time, we have President Obama :)

PS) I'm glad my IT'S NOT VOTER FRAUD, IT'S ELECTION FRAUD! phrase got through to people, considering the last few years, Republicans have blamed it all on the voters :eyes:
